Coronation Street is on for half an hour tonight (Thursday June 1, 2023), as the soap continues to undergo a major schedule shake-up.
This change to the schedule has seen the soap air every day this week in half-hour instalments.
But why is Coronation Street on tonight? What can we expect from the episode in Coronation Street spoilers?
Why is Coronation Street on tonight?
Coronation Street doesn’t usually air on Thursdays. However, the soap will air for half an hour tonight at 7.30-8.00pm.
In a similar fashion, the soap will air at the same time tomorrow.
This is due to the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent airing all week on ITV, meaning that Coronation Street’s usual hour-long episodes cannot air as usual.
Instead, the usual episodes have been split up into shorter, half an hour episodes which air just before BGT starts.
Coronation Street spoilers: Daisy faces Justin in court
Last night’s episode (Wednesday May 30, 2023) Ryan told Daisy that he wouldn’t be appearing in court – and revealed that Justin’s sister, Karen, had been spying on them.
Terrified at appearing in court without Ryan to back her up, Daisy is stressed at the thought of facing Justin in court alone.
Daniel begs Ryan to rethink his decision. He points out that if Justin goes free, Daisy will be forced to live in constant fear. Ryan refuses to budge from his position.
In court, the usher summons Daisy into court. She crumbles on the spot, and tells Daniel that she can’t face it.
Daniel takes to the witness box himself. He tells the court how Justin relentlessly stalked Daisy before his attack on her and Ryan.
Outside, Daisy is about to flee when Carla finds her. She urges Daisy to stand up and prove to Justin that he can’t control her.
Back in the courtroom, the defence barrister gives Daniel a grilling. He paints Daisy as highly-strung and an unreliable witness. Then, Daisy enters the witness box. How will she cope under pressure?
