It’s been a gruelling few months on Coronation Street for Katie McGlynn as she films Sinead’s final scenes on the cobbles.
And now she’s said goodbye to tragic Sinead, she has vowed to take on a new challenge: getting fit.
Posting to her Instagram, the actress revealed she hasn’t been feeling herself recently and is determined to get back on track following a “busy year”.

Sharing a picture of her training, Katie added: “After a busy year of filming, my fitness has really taken a backseat and I don’t feel 100 per cent myself so I’ve decided it’s time to hit the reset button!
“Over the next few months I’m challenging both my mind and body – solely focusing on my training and nutrition.”
She went on to add that she’s “really excited” to get going and that she’s “definitely felt it this week”.
“It’s been really tough and I’ve noticed I’m not as strong as usual, but I am SO ready for this…bring it on!”
Fans immediately got behind her, with one saying: “Well done, the hardest part is getting started.”
A second said: “Go Katie, you’ll smash it!”
“Amazing, best of luck, Katie,” said one more.
Katie announced she was leaving Corrie earlier this month after the soap confirmed Sinead’s cancer would return and it would be terminal.
She filmed her final scenes at the start of September and tweeted to her fans to let them know it had been her decision to leave Sinead – and the cobbles – behind.
Officially finished filming today… anybody hiring actresses around here? 7 years experience on the worlds longest running soap? 🤷🏼♀😂 #actressforhire #lastfilmingday #endofanera

FYI…I wasn’t “AXED” it was my decision to leave to pursue other opportunities…this outcome was the only way Sinead would ever leave her family & @itvcorrie behind. It was a mutual decision. ❤️ #sineadtinker #corrie

Sinead first found out she had cervical cancer last year weeks after finding out she was pregnant with baby Bertie.
Despite the doctors advising she terminate the pregnancy, she made the decision to delay treatment in order to save Bertie’s life.
He was born in January of this year, and Sinead immediately started aggressive treatment.
A scan in July revealed the tumour had shrunk and there was no evidence of it spreading, but Sinead has always been fearful the disease would claim her life in the end.
And that’s what will happen after she discovered a lump on her wedding day to Daniel Osbourne.
The ceremony went ahead, but she received the news the next day that her cancer had returned and she only had four months left to live.

She has started chemotherapy to keep the disease at bay, but with it making her too ill to spend her last days with her family, is set to stop having treatment.
It’s been reported Daniel will turn to alcohol in the wake of her death, even contemplating taking his own life.
It’s also been said he won’t attend the funeral as he can’t bear to say goodbye to his wife.
