In a new interview, Coronation Street’s Dolly-Rose Campbell has revealed she is bisexual, and is now working with Manchester Pride to help others.
The actress – best known for playing Gemma Winter on the ITV soap since 2014 – will be voicing an advert for LGBTQ+ rights and said she is “proud of who I am”.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Salford born Dolly said: “I have been coming to pride for over a decade now.
“The love and acceptance shown by the people of Manchester allowed me to accept my bisexuality and be proud of who I am.”
In fact the 31-year-old is working with Manchester Pride this year as an ambassador, even helping to promote the annual parade celebration happening on the August Bank Holiday.
Dolly adds: “The work that Manchester Pride does throughout the year to engage with and create opportunities for people in Manchester’s LGBTQ+ community and beyond makes a huge difference to so many people’s lives.”

The TV star took to Instagram after the interview, to wish her followers a Happy Valentine’s Day.

Beside a sweet meme, she wrote: “You are loved. 💓 You are lovely. 💓.”
Her fans rushed to call her “amazing”, with one commenting: “You are amazing darling xxx ❤️❤️ 🌈.” Another said: “Happy Valentine’s, love. Hope you have an amazing day 😊😊😊 xxxxx.”
A third added: “Happy Valentine’s @dolly_rose_campbell enjoy your day, love is love x.”
The TV star has been a fan favourite on the popular soap, playing brash Gemma, since she bagged a guest spot five years ago.
Dolly was actually on a public tour of the famous Corrie set when she got the call about the part, saying at the time: “I have always been a massive fan of Coronation Street.
“I’d had an audition before the tour and I wasn’t expecting anything, but then just a couple of days later I got the call saying I had got the part.”
She was originally meant to appear for only six episodes, playing Kylie Platt’s best friend, but producers loved her so much, she was recruited as a regular character.
