Coronation Street viewers divided as Alina Pop leaves the cobbles

Alina decided to go back to Romania

Viewers of Coronation Street have been left divided as Alina Pop departed the cobbles.

In last night’s episode (August 28 2019), former trafficked nail bar worker Alina came to visit Seb to tell him she would be going back home to Romania.

Alina revealed she didn’t know how long she would go back for, but she still had nightmares about Nikolai and Rachel killing her parents.

As Alina explained how she hated Jan the most for pretending to be “Mr Nice Guy”, Seb told her that Jan was a police informant.

Although Alina knew Jan wouldn’t come after her, she still wanted to return to Romania to find herself.

As she left, Seb was heartbroken.

Some viewers were also gutted to see Alina go.

However, some viewers don’t think Alina can be trusted.

A couple of months ago, Seb went to do some work in a nail bar for a woman named Rachel.

That’s where he met Alina and was instantly attracted to her.

It soon became clear that something was dodgy when Alina constantly worried about upsetting Rachel.

Seb found out that Rachel, her husband Nikolai, and Jan, Eileen’s boyfriend and housemate, were human traffickers.

When they realised Seb was onto them, they packed up and planned to move, however the police intercepted before they got away.

The workers were taken to a safehouse and Eileen was left heartbroken thinking Jan was involved.

However, he recently came back to the Street to tell her he was a police informant and was trying to help all those who had been trafficked.

Towards the end of last night’s episode, Rachel was seen following Eileen and Seb.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
