Coronation Street viewers turn on Shona as she refuses to listen to David

She was not happy to see he had a text from Natalie

| Updated:

Viewers of Coronation Street have turned on the well-loved character Shona Ramsey after she refused to listen to fiancé David Platt‘s explanations about his relationship with Natalie.

Shona’s suspicions over David’s closeness to Natalie have been building for a while.

Last week, Natalie went on a date with a police officer to scare Nick and David. But things soon went south as David spied on her and Natalie pretended to her date that she kissed David once as a joke and he was now following her.

Unluckily for David, just as Natalie’s date confronted him, Shona walked in and heard everything.

This week has continued to wind up Shona as Natalie turned up to the holiday park, where the Platts are ‘enjoying’ a getaway, to tell David that the police arrived to search the premises of the barber shop.

Fed-up Shona told David their engagement was off and removed her ring.

In last night’s episode (Tuesday May 28) Shona really reached the end of her tether when she discovered David had received a text from Natalie saying: “It’s over. Getting outta here before we’re rumbled. Was fun while it lasted though. Goodluck. x”

Already highly suspicious they were having an affair, Shona lost her temper and said: “Don’t bother trying to explain because your bit on the side has done it for you!” before throwing David’s mobile phone at him.

As David tried to explain anyway, Shona told him: “Just give it up, you’ve been busted. At least have the class to accept that much.”

David told her he would explain everything but he needed to talk to Audrey first and went off to find her.

Viewers weren’t sympathetic to Shona’s anger however and turned their backs on the cobbles favourite.

Of course, viewers know the real secret is that Natalie helped Nick steal Audrey’s money.

Last night, Gail recognised Natalie’s tattoo from the CCTV footage and called the police on her.

Although Nick tried to cover his tracks, David confessed that Nick stole the money and he helped him spend it.
