Amy has revealed her pregnancy to parents Tracy and Steve McDonald in Coronation Street and it’s fair to say Steve’s reaction leaves a lot to be desired.
While we were all expecting hot-headed Tracy to fly off the handle and be baying for blood, it turned out it was usually affable Steve who was fuming.
Tracy the reasonable one? Who knew she had it in her?!

As Amy went to the clinic to ask for a termination, you could tell she was Tracy Barlow’s daughter displaying that typical bolshy attitude, treating the nurse at the clinic as if she was beneath her.
“I don’t want to talk to my parents, I just want the pills,” she demanded.
But the nurse was adamant she wasn’t getting them unless she had someone with her, so off she skulked back to Weatherfield where she confided in her gran, Liz.
Despite promising to help Amy with whatever was bothering her, Liz was shocked when she found out what actually was bothering her, and wouldn’t go with her unless she told Tracy and Steve.
Meanwhile, back at home, Steve had found a pregnancy test and assumed it was Tracy’s, but when he confronted her, Trace insisted she wasn’t expecting and then the penny finally dropped.
While at this stage Tracy was typically fuming, Steve was the voice of reason insisting they stay calm, and discuss the situation with Amy like grown-ups.
But when Liz and Amy arrived, it was Steve who flipped.
“She’s 14 and she’s let somebody get her up the duff!” he yelled as Liz and Tracy tried to get him to calm down.
Liz insisted Amy was the priority, but Steve shouted: “Wrong! My priority is to find out who’s had sex with my underage daughter!”
Deducing it must be Aadi, despite Amy’s pleas that it wasn’t, Steve stormed off, grabbed a spade, and went to confront who he thought was the baby daddy with Tracy in hot pursuit.
After discovering it wasn’t Aadi, but letting the cat out of the bag that his daughter was pregnant, Steve returned home with his tail between his legs.

But he still wasn’t any calmer, ranting at his daughter.
“All you think about is you, how this affects you,” Amy shouted back at her dad.
As Steve pressed even further to get the dad’s name, she screamed: “I don’t know who the father is, I don’t know. I don’t know who he is, and I never want to see him ever again,” before storming off.
But even Amy’s outburst wasn’t enough to quieten Steve down, who later told Tracy: “We’re going to find out who got my daughter pregnant and when we do he’s going to wish he’d never been born.”
