Coronation Street boss Iain MacLeod has promised viewers a “very Christmassy Christmas” this year.
The soap is going to be practically dripping with sprouts, stuffing and tinsel as the drama is pushed aside for a really happy festive day, or perhaps not.
While there will be a lot of classic Corrie humour knocking about those snowy cobbles, it won’t be quite everywhere in Weatherfield.
Instead revenge will be one thing served ice cold this year as Jenny Bradley hatches a plan against Liz McDonald after her affair with her husband Johnny Connor.
Jenny might have publicly forgiven Liz and Johnny, but inside she’s still cut up about it and things are going to occur that will see her maturity pushed to breaking point.

Literally in some cases, and she will hit the bottle in an effort to cope with her feelings.
Only with Jenny being not the stablest of people, drinking unleashes some of her more base instincts and she hatches a revenge plan for Jenny that ends in disaster.
With her revenge plan spiralling out of control, everything comes to a head on Christmas Day with explosive consequences for all involved.
And over the road, Gina Seddon pulls out all the stops to get her claws into brother-in-law Tim Metcalfe while his wife Sally rots in prison for a fraud she didn’t commit.
With Tim struggling with the idea that his wife is guilty and that she cheated on him with conman Duncan, Gina makes her move into replacing her own sister.
Meanwhile there’s set to be drama for Audrey Roberts as Lewis Archer’s true colours reemerge after she comes into a windfall.
And Kate and Rana struggle to cope after Kate reportedly decides sleeping with Adam Barlow is the best way to get the baby she suddenly wants so much.
Brian’s nativity play at Bessie Street Primary will come to pass, though not in the way many people expect.
But there will be a Christmas tinged with a tragic overtone as Daniel Osbourne tries to give cancer-stricken wife Sinead the perfect Christmas.
