Fans responded, wishing her luck: “Good luck with college!” wrote one.
“Have fun! You will get stressed but make sure you still take time for yourself” added another.
A third wrote: “I am wishing you all the very best for the future.”
Last month, Elle shared her excellent GCSE results from on board a Royal Caribbean cruise ship.
In an Instagram post, the Corrie star posted pictures from the cruise and wrote: “GCSE results, Two nine’s, six seven’s, two six’s.”
In the numerical grading system, a nine is the equivalent to an A*, a seven is equivalent to an A and a six is equivalent to a B.
It’s been a good few months for the 16-year-old who appears to have done lots of travelling this year.
In July, she enjoyed a holiday in Croatia and recently went on a family holiday to New York.

Elle has played Amy, daughter of Steve and Tracy McDonald, on Coronation Street since 2010.
Earlier this year, she was involved in a tough storyline when her character found out she was pregnant at just 14 years old.
At first Amy wanted an abortion but when she found out she would need to have a surgical abortion she changed her mind.
After a few weeks, Tracy and Steve finally figured out that 17-year-old gang member Tyler was the father of the baby.
Tyler had terrorised Amy’s cousin Simon and tried to poison her grandad Ken’s dog, Eccles.

Her pregnancy caused arguments between Tyler’s mum Vicky and her own parents, and Amy started to feel pressured.
After speaking to Bethany Platt, Amy realised she did want to have an abortion.
She kept her termination a secret for a while, but when she went to Tracy, she let her mum believe she had miscarried.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
