The couple shared the news they were expecting their first child last October when they posted a scan of the tot on Instagram.
James later told OK! magazine that he was “so excited to be having a daughter”, adding: “I can’t wait to meet her now.”
Earlier this month, the actor – who plays Dr Ali Neeson in the ITV soap – hinted that the baby had been born when he shared a selfie on Insta-stories alongside the message: “Back on set and yes that’s the face of a tired new dad.”

However, James has now seemingly confirmed his baby daughter has been born by sharing a loved-up selfie with Sophie enjoying a much-needed night off parenting duties.
In a message to his 26,500 Instagram followers, he wrote: “Out with my beautiful girlfriend @sophie_coates baby free for a few hours while nana and grandad look after her ❤️#happyness [sic].”
When a friend asked if he’d enjoyed the night, James replied: “Ahhh mate it was beautiful ❤️.”

Fans are still waiting to hear what James and Sophie, who have been together for three years, have called their baby girl.
Little Ms Burrows has already had a far less uncomplicated beginning in life than James’s Corrie character Ali.
Although he is Michelle Connor‘s biological child, he was separated from her at birth and they only recently reunited.
He was involved in the soap’s explosive episodes when drug dealer Ronan Truman was killed after a car accident left him with a stake through his body.
