Jennie McAlpine, star of Coronation Street, made her fans chuckle when she shared her honest transformation from glamorous soap star at last night’s British Soap Awards ceremony to Sunday super mum.
Jennie, who plays Fiz Brown in the soap, joined a host of her fellow soap actors at the annual bash, where Corrie triumphed.
The morning after the night before, Jennie shared two photos – one shows her posing backstage at the ceremony and one shows her wearing a red mask.
In the first snap, the actress looks red carpet ready dressed in a black top, black trousers and cream heels, while she’s sporting perfectly coiffed hair.
In the second, she’s make-up free and has her hair tied back in a messy up ‘do.
Writing alongside the two pictures, Jennie shared: “Saturday night and Sunday morning. Soap Awards. Instagramvsreality.
“I laughed way too hard at this,” one of her followers wrote under the shot.
“This wins post of the day,” a second shared, and a third wrote, “Totally nailing the work/mum life – you’re so awesome.”
Another said they hope she doesn’t have a sore head as that and young children “don’t mix”.

Jennie and her husband Chris Farr welcomed their second child last year, and named her after a beloved Corrie character.
Announcing the news at the time, Jennie shared on social media: “Our newest addition arrived yesterday. Mummy and daddy are very happy. Big brother very proud of his little sister Hilda. We’re all in love.”

Meanwhile, it was a big night for Corrie, with the soap taking home five gongs.
The awards included Outstanding Achievement for Sue Nicholls as well as Best Storyline, Best Single Episode and Scene Of The Year for scenes surrounding the tragic death of Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward).
Accepting the gong, Shayne confessed he “wasn’t even supposed to be there”, but his friends at Coronation Street had asked him to come along.
Speaking to an audience of his castmates, viewers and actors and actresses from the competing soaps, he said: “Us guys just don’t talk enough … we need to start talking. We need to use this platform to try and tackle this taboo.”
And collecting the Scene of The Year award for Gail’s monologue, Helen Worth said: “I’m just the lucky one who got to say it. It was beautifully edited together.”
“And the cast of Coronation Street, because you all portrayed that scene so beautifully. Thank you all very much. And thank you for a wonderful award.”
