Coronation Street’s Katie’s McGlynn has hit back at claims she was seen kissing her co-star Sean Ward at the National Television Awards last week.
The 25-year-old actress, who plays Sinead Tinker, took to Twitter to slam the rumours that she was seen sharing a passionate kiss with Sean, 30, who starred as Callum Logan in the soap.

Claiming the pair had got close, an onlooker told The Sun: “Katie and Sean had been getting close all night.
“They were huddled in a corner at the after-party. They kissed passionately and didn’t mind who was watching.
The source added: “They were all over each other.”

Katie was determined to set the record straight tweeting: “It’s a shame when someone sees two old mates catching up at a party & decides to tell lies to a newspaper #getyourfactsright #lies #nottrue.”

The rumours came at the same time it was revealed that Katie had secretly split from long-term boyfriend Benji Roberts last year.

An insider told The Sun: “Katie and Benji were really smitten when they first met and enjoyed a bit of a whirlwind to start with.
“Things started to fizzle out towards the end of last year and they made the mutual decision to split.
“It was all very amicable and they are still friends. Katie is just concentrating on her massive storyline at the moment.”

Katie’s future on the cobbles is uncertain as her character battles cervical cancer.
Coronation Street boss Iain McLeod recently revealed that he hasn’t yet decided how the storyline will play out.
He revealed to Metro.co.uk: “It’s a really long running story and we genuinely haven’t decided what we are doing with the ending.
“I have an open mind about it. There’s a beautiful story with an optimistic ending, but equally a very truthful story to tell where it doesn’t work out.”
