Viewers are hoping for a Corrie reunion between Billy Mayhew and Sean Tully after Weatherfield’s kindly vicar helped his ex get off the streets.
Luckless Sean finally admitted to his friend he had been sleeping rough for weeks in last night’s episode.
But the former factory worker angrily rejected Billy and Eileen’s offers of help after insisting he needed to be on hand for hospitalised pal Carol, another homeless character who had taken Sean under her wing.
Thankfully Sean – who had been forced to beg from strangers – changed his mind about relying on his friends after Carol advised him to choose a better life.

Apologising, Sean agreed to stay with Billy – along with his ward Summer Spellman and apprentice hairdresser Emma Brooker – for a while in their Rosamund Street flat.
Many of those watching the ITV soap were quick to suggest Sean – played by Antony Cotton – should really get his feet back under Billy’s table, however.

Really want Sean & Billy to get back together! @itvcorrie

@antonycotton OMG that has been the best acting from you ever… I sobbed with you; ty for highlighting the plight of the homeless. Let’s hope Corrie writers now have a happy ever after for Sean and Billy xxx

Other fans were not so sure Sean and Billy getting back together as a couple after over two years apart would necessarily prove to be either man’s happy ending.
After all, Billy has shown no signs of being over Todd Grimshaw – despite Eileen’s son having done a runner at the start of the year.

I’ve not seen anything from either #Sean or #Billy to suggest it’s more than a friend helping a friend, it would be madness for them to get back together…they really weren’t suited…plus, how can he possibly move on without us seeing him deal with the ‘Todd’ issue #Corrie💔

I know, Corrie seem to be portraying Billy as pretty much over Todd, despite his sudden disappearance for no reason, there’s no attempt to address it. I’m worried that they’ll put him & Sean together because that’s the kind of thing that happens in soap, but I really hope not.

One viewer wondered whether Sean’s concern for Carol might bring an end to his time at his new temporary accommodation.
Ok so Sean has told billy he’s homeless but I don’t think he’ll move in with any of them because he won’t want too leave that homeless girl he’s met 😔 #Corrie

And a number of other fans puzzled over just how many people can fit in one small flat.
To be fair, it doesn’t appear that Sean is expecting his own ensuite and car parking space.
I thought it was 2 bedrooms. Billy in one room and Summer in the other. God knows where Sean and Emma are staying. 🤔
— Claw (@Clawmaw) August 23, 2018
So…..Billy, Summer, and Emma…..and now Sean on the sofa…..all in the flat above the Flower Shop.
Three bedroom flat is it? Must be massive!!!#corrie @itvcorrie @ConversationStr @CoroStreetBlog

I’m confused by Corrie… Sean is staying at Billy’s tiny flat with 3 other people. Where are they all sleeping?! And why is Eileen’s house suddenly full with just 3 people when she used to have an entire army live there?!
— Lovers ❤️ (@Princessleelo) August 22, 2018
Sean’s life hit the skids after he was asked to move out of Fiz Brown’s house so she could start anew after splitting from Tyrone Dobbs.
Having fibbed about having a job, broke Sean then asked Liz McDonald if he could stay with her.
But that arrangement soon fell apart after he nabbed her bar job at the Rovers Return.
However, following a misunderstanding with new pub owners Johnny and Jenny Connor over some filched vodka, Sean found himself without any income – and only a tent for shelter.
– Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV
