As Daniel Osborne plans a surprise wedding for fiancée Sinead Tinker next week, he’s completely oblivious to the fact she is hiding a huge cancer secret. A secret that is set to change everything.
But when he surprises her with an impromptu wedding just moments after she gets home from a secret hospital visit, will Sinead be forced to reveal the truth about her health before they tie the knot?

As the pair become Mr and Mrs Osborne next week, it remains to be seen if Sinead has spilled the beans to her husband-to-be before they say ‘I do’.

But Rob Mallard, who plays romantic Daniel, has confessed that the news Sinead’s life could be in danger is set to push his character over the edge.

The Coronation Street actor told the Mirror: “Every time their relationship has come under threat, it’s always made him go off the rails.
“It’s a little bit unhinged and a little bit dangerous to put all of your mental well-being on one person. All of his mental stability lies with this very sweet, ill girl.”

Rob also admitted that Daniel’s first thoughts when Sinead finally reveals the truth about her cancer are “selfish”.
He said at a recent Coronation Street press day, “Sinead would be his first thought over the baby.

“He grew up without a mum and a dad and thinks from the prospective of the child who could potentially grow up bereft of its mother and go, ‘That’s not something you should do to a child’. So he has those selfish thoughts.”

He also confessed the real reason Daniel doesn’t notice something isn’t right with Sinead for some time… “It’s so easy for him not to be in the loop with what is happening to Sinead because he’s so caught up with how happy he thinks they both are.

“It’s like a drug for him, he wants it to keep going and doesn’t want the sun to come up.”
Coronation Street will air Sinead and Daniel’s wedding scenes next week as part of their explosive October episodes that feature a dramatic car crash, a shock death, and two weddings.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
