Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd has revealed something (rather sweet) about his off-screen relationship with co-star Colson Smith.
The actor, who plays David Platt, shares a home with Colson, who portrays OCD sufferer Craig Tinker – and admits he plays the role of ‘dad’.

In an interview with Inside Soap, David revealed that he even does his friend’s laundry and has been roped into doing other chores around the house, too!
Hang on, but that’s just like being married…
Jack said: “I live with Colson – and that’s a challenge.
“I have to teach him about life and things, and I do his washing.”

The 30-year-old actor even confessed that he’s earned the nickname ‘dad’ from the younger actor, who is ten year’s his junior.
He added: “He’s like my little project – my nickname is ‘Dad’.”
Awwwwww.
Jack – who recently received The British Soap Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of rape victim David – isn’t just protective of his co-star Colson.
He recently hit out at a Twitter troll who had ‘fat-shamed’ his on-screen partner Shona (played by Julia Goulding).
A misguided fan (we’re being kind) accused the actress of looking “pregnant” on set – but quickly learnt not to make comments like that when Jack jumped to defend his co-star.
The social media user wrote: “Pitter, patter of tiny feet on the horizon (Congratulations, if so) or is this an unflattering snap? If the latter, have a word!!! #mycrush #stillsfail.”
No, Gareth “Big G” Payne (in the arse), Julia or her character is NOT pregnant, I’m sorry if you think it’s a #StillsFail and Julia will not be having “a word” the only people that will. Will be my followers. Good luck. 🤘🏻 https://t.co/fc6FjJdhrj

Not allowing a bad word to be written about his friend and colleague, Jack replied: “No, Gareth “Big G” Payne (in the arse), Julia or her character is NOT pregnant, I’m sorry if you think it’s a #StillsFail and Julia will not be having “a word” the only people that will. Will be my followers. Good luck.”
As his fans began to criticise the fan’s post, he quickly removed the tweet and deleted his account.
A lesson not to mess with Jack – or his friends.
Last week, Jack joked that his soap colleagues smelt like biscuits at the Inside Soap Awards because of their use of fake tan…
Cheeky, Jack, cheeky!
