Coronation Street bosses have revealed that next week’s crash drama that sees Michelle, Ali and Ryan caught up in a car chase with vengeful Ronan will see one beloved character die.
In an official statement released today, the soap revealed: “The Connors find themselves embroiled in a terrifying car chase which leaves one person dead, two fighting for their lives, and a secret that will overshadow the family for years to come.”
The tragedy comes after Cormac’s father, Ronan, vows revenge on the family for his son’s death and he chases them in his car as Michelle flees Coronation Street with her boys.

There is a terrifying high-speed car chase that follows, which comes to a dramatic end when Michelle’s car engine dies, leaving them like sitting ducks as Ronan catches up with them.
What follows when Ronan extracts his revenge will leave viewers on the edge of their seat.
Actress Kym Marsh, who plays Weatherfield mum Michelle Connor, spoke about next week’s horrifying crash scenes at a press day yesterday…
“There’s more tragedy, more trauma. Though it is great for me because it really lets me test myself,” she told the Mirror.
When Ryan’s life is thrown into jeopardy thanks to Ronan, Michelle is beside herself with grief. Kym revealed: “I lost my voice by the time the night came and my throat was sore.
“It was quite an intense period of time, but it was great fun to film.”

Kym also admitted that she drew on her own experiences as a mum while she filmed the traumatic scenes… “I think as a mother you can’t help but have that instinct where you want to protect. Michelle obviously just wants to look after Ryan, but Ali as well.
“She realises it’s her job to protect the boys. I totally got it because I would be absolutely the same.”
But the big question remains… who is the character with the axe hanging over their heads?
Coronation Street airs these scenes as part of their big stunt week, starting on Monday 8th October.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
