Coronation Street favourite David Platt has finally seen the last of evil rapist Josh Tucker.
Actor Ryan Clayton, who played villainous Josh, has confirmed that he’s left Weatherfield for good in a social media message full of praise for his supportive fans.

Josh’s exit followed an emotional showdown with victim David, in scenes that played out at the beginning of this week.
David finally gained the upper hand against his rapist, after Josh unexpectedly showed up at the salon saying he wanted to make amends.
Shocked that Josh was back on the Street, David decided to exact his own type of revenge by bundling him into a car and threatening to drive a blind Josh to the police station.

After a scared Josh admitted his crimes, David let him go, driving off and leaving him alone in the street, saying he had the “closure” he wanted.
David returned home, telling Billy Mayhew and Shona Ramsey that he finally feels like he’s got his life back.
While some ITV soap fans are frustrated that Josh didn’t serve time for rape, many are just glad to see the back of the character who bought David no end of grief.

The actor also thanked the charity Survivors Manchester, who worked with Corrie on the harrowing storyline about David’s rape.
Some fans believed Josh should have gone to jail, with one writing: “Cant believe you left like that tonight @RClayton92 aww you’re a brilliant actor and have done this storyline so well but didnt expect this to be the ending!! Obviously I wish Josh had faced real Justice for what he done to David, but knowing that David is able to move on and will no longer let this destroy him is what I have been waiting for. #Corrie

Another said: “I’m so happy for David, finally got his closure. It would have been better if josh was in prison.”
Ryan joined the soap in January as part of one of the most shocking and controversial storylines in Corrie history.
For the first time in its 57-year history Corrie tackled the sensitive subject of male rape when David, played by Jack P Shepherd, woke after a night out with mechanic Josh to realise that he had been drugged and raped.
