Danny Dyer reveals he would get a tattoo of Lady Di

We do love Lady Di

Danny Dyer would love to get a tattoo of EastEnders bulldog Lady Di on his arm.

The 41-year-old actor admits he would go under the needle to have his character Mick Carter’s pet pooch inked onto his bicep if he had to get a tat of any of the Walford residents, despite admitting it may be “a bit tacky” walking around with a bulldog on his arm.

When a fan asked who he would get a tattoo off, he said: “It’s very simple for me, Lady Di.

“It might sound a bit tacky but a nice, big bulldog on my arm. Very simple.”

Danny is up for the Serial Drama Performance accolade at the upcoming National Television Awards, and there looks to be plenty of time for more nods as he isn’t planning to depart Albert Square anytime soon.

He said: “I ain’t goin’ nowhere. Unfortunately, it’s not really my decision to make. It’s the powers that be.

“As long as they want Mick around, and as long as Mick’s involved in storylines that are inspiring and stuff that I really enjoy playing, and I’ve got my Carter little mob around me, I ain’t goin’ nowhere.

“It’s a great job, very grateful for it. As long as they want me, I’m here.”

Danny admits it is a “blessing” that he gets to work alongside Kellie Bright, who plays Mick’s wife Linda Carter, every day, and says the pair – who joined the soap together in December 2013 – have “got each other’s backs”.

Speaking on a video Q&A posted on EastEnders’ official Twitter account, he added: “With Kellie we came into the show together so we’ve grown together within the show as characters, as human beings.

“I have got the closest connection to her. We love playing Mick and Linda. It’s such a beautiful, complex relationship, so I think the fact I get to work with one of my very good friends every day is a blessing.

“We’re always rooting for each other and we’ve got each other’s backs. That’s very important in our industry.”
