Danny Dyer is adding another string to his bow, after an already eventful year.
As well as his role in EastEnders as Mick Carter, the actor has taken to the stage in a Harold Pinter play, appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox with daughter Dani, and hosted a tongue-in-cheek historical show Danny Dyer’s Right Royal Family.

But now the BBC has announced he’ll be fronting his very own BBC One gameshow.
The actor, 41, has been confirmed as the host for brand new Saturday night primetime series The Wall.
With questions voiced by Angela Rippon, the six part series has been described as “the ultimate combination of strategy, knowledge and luck”.

In a statement released by the BBC, Danny said: “I’d never had a desire to host a gameshow before I saw this game.
“I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to help win the public some serious life-changing readies. I love it.”
Viewers have been promised “colossal wins and heart-breaking losses” on the upcoming show, which will require pairs to have the right answers, the right bounces and trust in each other to win the life-changing cash prize.

Kate Phillips, Controller of Entertainment Commissioning at BBC, added: “The Wall is an exciting, challenging and tense quiz where destinies dramatically change with the drop of a single ball.
“Danny is an unforgettable and very unique host as he commands The Wall, roots for the contestants and hits our hearts and our funny bones.”
Richard Hague, Creative Director at Remarkable Television, said: “This show is epic not just in scale, but in the drama that unfolds throughout the game. Having Danny at the helm means we’re in for a memorable, compelling and entertaining watch.”
The show is believed to be based on a US version of the same name, which is centred around a huge wall that works like an arcade coin pusher machine.
The format sees contestants answer a round of questions before being given a green ball for correct answers, but a red ball if their answer is wrong.
The balls are then dropped down the wall and fall into one of a number of pits each labelled with varying amounts of money. Wherever a green ball lands, the contestant wins that money, but a red ball means they lose that amount.
Danny has previously hosted a now infamous episode of Have I Got News For You.
The series is set to launch later this year, and applications are already live at http://www.bbc.co.uk/showsandtours/takepart/the_wall for people hoping to take part.
