Klaxon please! One of EastEnders’ most popular characters EVER is returning to Walford.
After Kate Oates teased the return of an iconic EastEnders character from the past, it has now been revealed that Rob Kazinsky is heading back to Albert Square.
And we think that deserves a ‘mic drop’!

Rob, who played Sean Slater from 2006 to 2009, left in dramatic scenes just over 10 years ago.
So why is he back? And how long will he stay? (Forever, pretty pleeeeeaaaasssseee?).
We can tell you that EastEnders have confirmed that Sean will return for a short stint this spring.

His troubled character became a huge fan favourite after being involved in a number of explosive storylines, including his fractured relationship with his family – well they ARE the Slaters!
Sean also dated Ruby Allen, albeit for her dad’s money.
The likeable baddie also conspired with Tanya Branning to kill her husband Max.
Things finally started going well for Sean when he married Roxy Mitchell, however it was short lived when Sean discovered he was not the biological father of his daughter, Amy, and it was in fact Jack.
As was often the case with Sean, he let his rage consume him and he took drastic action – which led to him and Roxy plunging into a frozen lake before he fled Walford…
Viewers haven’t seen Sean since, although Roxy did in fact die from drowning several years later in a tragic accident on her sister’s wedding night.

Since leaving EastEnders, Rob now lives and works in America.
He has starred in films including Pacific Rim, Hot Pursuit and Warcraft: The Beginning, as well as TV shows including True Blood and Brothers And Sisters.
We’re told that Rob’s return as Sean will be full of “drama”, with boss Kate saying: “I’m beyond delighted to see Rob back in Albert Square and back at the heart of the Slater family.
“As an actor, Rob created a modern EastEnders icon in Sean; and as a creative, he has had much input in his returning story. It’s exciting to work with an actor with Rob’s drive, passion and eye for detail, and I can’t wait to see the impact his arrival has on the Square amidst those who loved or loathed the troubled Sean Slater.”
Meanwhile, Rob said: “This year marked 10 years since Sean fled from Walford after plunging into a frozen lake. A decade since I left the studio at Elstree and Sean Slater behind to move to the USA to chase a dream that seemed so farfetched.
“Throughout my career I have always felt that my best work was on EastEnders as Sean Slater, that there was something there in him that I understood completely, something traumatic, something that we never really got to show the viewers.
“I have unfinished business in Albert Square and am thrilled to be returning to what I still consider to be my home, however briefly.”
Rob – who will start filming in the coming weeks and will appear onscreen in March – went on to say that the BBC soap is “still the most important serial on British TV, never afraid to combat hard storylines and tell hard truths, I have always been proud of what EastEnders has done for social awareness throughout my lifetime and that is why I’m back.
“To tell a story that means something to me with the family that I know can tell it right.
“I can’t wait to see my Slaters again and see what’s in store for Sean as he brings an evolved animal to Albert Square.”
An evolved animal? We’d better get David Attenborough to take a look at that…
