EastEnders fans brand newcomer Jags Panesar ‘fake Fatboy’

Fatboy was seemingly killed off in 2015

Fans of EastEnders have branded newcomer Jags Panesar ‘fake Fatboy’.

Jags made his first appearance on the BBC soap last month with his older brother Kheerat to confront Ben Mitchell after he stole Kheerat’s car.

The brothers returned last week with their younger brother Vinny.

During their return, it was revealed they had more than one connection to Albert Square residents as it was revealed they were the brothers of Iqra’s girlfriend, Ash, and that Jags previously dated Chantelle Atkins.

Although Jags has come across as a character with a funny side, viewers think the soap have tried to make him the new Fatboy.

Fans of the show will remember Arthur ‘Fatboy’ Chubb, who was on the show from 2010 till 2015.

The popular character appeared to be killed off in 2015 when he got caught up in a war between Ronnie Mitchell and Vincent Hubbard.

In a tragic case of mistaken identity, Fatboy was kidnapped by some of Ronnie’s men and locked in the boot of a car at the Arches.

Unfortunately the car was taken to be crushed and the last we saw of the lovable character was Vincent pulling Fatboy’s trademark ‘F’ medallion out of the car wreckage.

We’ve had fake Michelle. Now we have fake Fatboy.

However, viewers never saw Fatboy’s body and despite Vincent appearing shocked when he opened the boot of the car, he told Ronnie that she had been scammed and the crushed car boot was empty.

Vincent later told Dot Branning, who Fatboy was living with, that her lodger and friend went to a gig in Austria and may not return.

EastEnders is on Mondays and Fridays at 8pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm.
