EastEnders fans reject “annoying” and “wooden” newcomers Habiba and Iqra

They were slammed for being "embarrassingly bad"

| Updated:

Masood’s nieces have arrived in Albert Square – but they didn’t get a very warm welcome AT ALL.

Within minutes of the sisters showing their faces in Walford, EastEnders fans expressed their dislike for the pair.

Viewers blasted Habiba and Iqra for being “annoying”, “irritating”, “wooden” and “embarrassingly bad” (and that’s just what we can print!).

While some claimed the pair could be the new Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell, others were gutted that they arrived just as likeable Masood made his decision to leave for good.

Masood, played by Nitin Ganatra, shocked viewers when he quietly said goodbye to lover Kathy – just as his nieces turned up to cause trouble.

He left for his son’s wedding and looked set to move to Australia.

Just as he was leaving, his nieces turned up to “look after” Walford East for him, until the new owner was able to take it over.

But fans were NOT happy about the swap, claiming the pair aren’t welcome on the Square.

One said: “These two are [bleep] dreadful. What is the point of them?”

Another said: “Booo, get them girls off the screen (duf false acting) and bring back more of the older characters that were loved and respected. You want to enhance your ratings, then go back to the good characters that could act like Mary and Lofty. Brilliant move, bring more older faces back.”

Another said: “Annoying characters already.”

A third agreed, adding: “Please tell me these two new irritating characters playing Masood’s nieces, are not going to be a permanent addition! Can’t act and are as annoying as [bleep] #EastEnders.”

“I feel like with the already very female heavy cast of #Eastenders that Iqra and Habiba are irrelevant and unneeded. I don’t see their point? They don’t really belong on the Square. I’d much rather the show keep hold of Masood,” lamented another.

Others called the girls “dimwits”, “annoyingly irritating” and “laughingly bad”.

Bad news for haters, as the pair are definitely sticking around.

EastEnders boss Kate Oates has previously said of Habiba and Iqra: “The sisters are certainly going to be a force to be reckoned with.

“Their arrival will throw number 41 into chaos as they become a nightmare for Mariam and Arshad.

“Residents of Walford beware, take on one of the sisters and you take on the pair.”
