Fans of EastEnders are in shock after it was revealed Callum Highway is gay.
Undertaker Halfway was outed when he rowed with Ben Mitchell about the stolen van he had sold him, causing him to be arrested.
The pair brawled in Ian Beale’s house but as they fought they shared a passionate moment and Ben realised that Halfway had been hiding his true sexuality.
Ben sneered at him: “I smell queer. And suddenly it all falls into place. I’ve been there myself, you like blokes.”
Halfway tried to argue with him and insisted he wasn’t anything like Ben but Ben continued to goad him.

“So what?” he said. “You like blokes, you like girls, I guess that’s why they call you Halfway.”
He then told him: “I bet you loved the army though mate, same as me in prison.
“All them hotties having communal showers. All that pent up testosterone. I bet you were very popular.”
It was too much for Callum who punched Ben out of frustration but it only encouraged Ben more.
Ben said: “Ow that hurt. Want to kiss it better?”
Realising the secret he had been closely keeping had been exposed he fled the house and had an emotional breakdown in Walford, crying in the Square.

And while he was shocked at the events, so too were viewers who just didn’t see his sexuality bombshell coming after he seemed to be in a happy relationship with Whitney Carter.
One said on Twitter: “What? Is Halfway gay? I always fancied him #EastEnders”
A second said: “Halfway gay!!! Where did that come from? What the bloody hell were you smoking?”
Another added: “It doesn’t make sense Halfway/Callum being gay. I’m sorry. #EastEnders”
