Lee will make a comeback to help his parents Mick and Linda through a crisis.

The Queen Vic landlords are struggling with Mick suffering from panic attacks and stress and Linda’s increasing dependency on alcohol.

And their youngest son Ollie is undergoing testing for autism with the couple worried at what that means for him.

It seems Lee will have recovered from his own demons that saw him leave Walford after his own crisis.

He considered taking his own life after his life spiralled out of control leaving him in debt and making terrible choices including staging a robbery in the Vic against his own family.

Lee even became abusive towards wife Whitney Carter.

He will now return for a brief time to help his family.

Danny-Boy said in a statement: “The way things are going with the Carters at the minute, it makes total sense that Lee would return, even for a short stint.

“I will always be loyal to the Carter clan and the show, and am very excited to be back on set with some immensely talented people whom I love dearly.”

EastEnders boss Jon Sen added: “We are thrilled that Danny-Boy is returning to Walford to reprise the role of Lee Carter.

“Lee obviously left the Square under a cloud but now he returns to vanquish demons and help Mick and Linda as they struggle through their latest crisis.”
