Callum Highway’s struggle with his sexuality in EastEnders isn’t going to be made much easier next week when his dad, Jonno, shows up – and immediately comes to blows with Callum’s love interest, Ben Mitchell.
With Callum and Whitney Dean’s wedding plans in full swing, despite the fact he’s got feelings for Ben, she suggests Callum invite his parents to the wedding.

It soon becomes clear that’s a sensitive subject, so Whit talks to Stuart about it. He urges his brother to think about it, and Callum decides to reach out to his dad.
Callum’s nervous as he prepares to see his dad, Jonno, but Jay gives him a pep talk.
Callum, Stuart and Jonno are reunited at the restaurant and things seem to be going well.
Jonno immediately charms Whitney, and Callum makes the decision to invite his dad to the wedding.
But it all begins to go downhill when Jonno starts questioning Callum’s career choices.
Later, Jonno heads to The Vic where he clashes with Ben and Phil Mitchell.
The next day, Callum is roped into modelling Whitney’s Pride shirts, but he feels uncomfortable, especially when Stuart wants to spend some time with him.
Instead, Callum ends up having a drink in The Vic with his dad.
But when Ben arrives, it all kicks off as Ben subtly antagonises Jonno about what happened between them the day before.
Mick warns Callum his dad is trouble. It looks like he could be right…

Callum soon realises Jonno has followed Ben to the toilets and as he confronts Mr Mitchell, a fight breaks out and the pair come to blows.
Jonno is left fuming and storms out of the pub followed by Callum.
It’s not long before Callum is back with Ben, talking about what happened with his dad. Ben offers advice to Callum and then kisses him on the cheek – something that Stuart witnesses.
When Stuart confronts Callum at Pride the next day, will he come clean to his brother?
And what about the brothers’ dad? Will Jonno continue to cause trouble for them on the Square?
Can Callum ever admit who he really is with a bully like Jonno for a father?
EastEnders is on Monday and Friday at 8pm and Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
