EastEnders SPOILER: First look at Lucy Benjamin’s return as Lisa Fowler

She's set to make a big comeback in the coming weeks...

Lisa Fowler will be back on our screens this summer, in what is set to be an explosive EastEnders storyline.

Although the details of her return have so far been kept hush hush by the BBC soap, star Tamzin Outhwaite has given fans a sneak peek of Lucy Benjamin’s character back on set.

Thank you, Tamzin!

The pair have been good mates ever since they both joined the Walford soap in 1998, with both returning on and off for stints every since.

And on Thursday (July 4), actress Tamzin, who plays Mel Owen, couldn’t resist sharing her excitement at being reunited with her co-star and friend.

While the photo doesn’t give much away, the glamorous appearance of the ladies, including Letitia Dean as Sharon Mitchell and Kellie Bright as Linda Carter, suggests they are filming a wedding.

Could it be the nuptials of Whitney Dean and Callum Highway? Or, with rumours rife of Whitney’s death, could it in fact be a funeral?

Well, the ladies are in black…?

Alongside the photo of Tamzin and her co-stars, she wrote: “These beautiful blonde babes, living life like beautiful, blonde bananas.”

Understandably, fans were quick to share their excitement, with one of her 266,000 followers simply writing: “Legends.”

Another wrote: “My favourites! Love watching you ladies on the best soap!”

A third typed: “Yes, Lisa Fowler!”

EastEnders confirmed Phil’s ex would be returning earlier this year, with Lucy Benjamin admitting she is “excited” to get back to Albert Square.

The 48-year-old star last appeared in the soap in 2017 but is set to make a big comeback after her character Lisa discovers her daughter Louise is pregnant.

Speaking about her return to Walford, Lucy has described the feeling as “going home”.

The actress told The Mirror she “couldn’t be more excited”, adding: “Going back to EastEnders feels like going home.

“I love and adore playing Lisa, and am looking forward to seeing what’s in store for her this time.”

Two years before her departure, the nation was gripped by the ‘Who Shot Phil’ storyline, after Lisa shot her ex.

A whopping 19.8 million viewers tuned in to find out that she was the one who had pulled the trigger.

Lucy reprised her role as Lisa in 2017 for a fleeting two-week appearance, but she has not returned to Albert Square since then.

Sharing her news on Instagram, Lucy wrote: “After a few months of having to keep it secret, I can now reveal I will be making a return to @bbceastenders #lisa #excited.”

Fans were chuffed to bits, with one replying: “Cannot wait @lucybenjaminofficial. Lisa is my fave @bbceastenders character ever, think Louise needs her mum now more than ever @tillykeeper . So excited xx.”

We’re not sure Phil and Sharon will be so pleased to see her though…
