Max Branning will be furious next week in EastEnders as his plan to adopt granddaughter Abi suffers a setback.
The scheming used car salesman has hatched a plan to adopt baby Abi to make up for causing her mother’s death.
But he faces stiff competition from his mother in law Cora Cross, who wants to protect the baby from Max.
And while everything with his fake marriage to Rainie Cross is going swimmingly, things are going to take a turn for the worse next week.
With a new solicitor adding to Max’s good mood by telling him he has a good case to win custody of baby Abi, he thinks everything is going to plan.

However when Cora’s solicitor drops an almighty bombshell, he’s driven mad by despair.
Realising his plans to get baby Abi and to raise her as his own have suffered a serious set back, Max lashes out.
Hurling a mug across the kitchen, violent Max loses control in front of a shocked Rainie.
And things are set to get even worse for the scheming salesman when he has another furious clash with Cora later in the week.
She blames him for Abi’s death as well as the destruction he willingly brought onto the family during his revenge scheme against Walford.
His plan to buy up and develop Walford so the community couldn’t afford to remain saw his daughter Abi die, his other daughter Lauren leave for good, and him to become a universally hated figure.

Having sworn that he has changed, Max only wants baby Abi to re-do all his failed attempts at parenting.
But will the courts allow him the chance?
Or will Cora stop him and protect baby Abi from the same fate as her mother, aunt, uncle and the rest of Max’s victims?
