Pam Coker makes a welcome return to EastEnders next week, three years after she left Albert Square with husband Les.
The surprise return comes following some drama at the funeral parlour, but despite the fact Pam is back in Walford on business, that doesn’t stop her from wanting to see those she loves… especially Ben Mitchell.
EastEnders fans will remember that Ben was dating Pam and Les’s grandson Paul Coker when he was horrifically killed in a homophobic attack back in 2016.
Since then he has become closer than ever to the pair and even thinks of Pam as his own nan.
When Pam arrives back, Jay Brown and Lola Pearce are thrilled to see her and they hatch a plan to surprise Ben.
Ben is over the moon to see Pam and as they catch up it is like they’ve never been apart.
However as he introduces Callum, Ben is left feeling awkward and plays down who he really is, leaving Callum heartbroken.
With Pam in town, Jay decides now is the time for him to take a step back from Coker’s and try his hand at something new… but who is going to fill his place running the funeral parlour?

Eventually Ben reveals his grand plan and tells Callum that he thinks he should take over Jay’s job, believing it would be the perfect opportunity for him to make some more money.
But while Ben is pleased with his plan, the idea of stepping up at the funeral parlour isn’t very well received by Callum and Ben’s left wondering why.

Later, Pam sits Ben down and the pair have a heart-to-heart.
Pam tells Ben that Paul would want him to be happy and that he should follow his heart and make a go of things with Callum.
Her words strike a chord with Ben and he makes a huge life-changing decision… but how will Callum react to Ben’s grand gesture?
EastEnders airs Monday and Friday at 8pm and Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
