EastEnders star Colin Salmon has arrived in Walford as George Knight, ready to shake up the Square – much to Linda’s disgust!
Champion boxer George is Elaine Peacock‘s new man and he’s already made his presence felt in Albert Square, butting heads with Nish Panesar and winding Linda up – seems he’ll fit into EastEnders perfectly!
George is played by Colin Salmon – a familiar face to television, film and Strictly Come Dancing fans because Colin’s been a regular on our screens for decades!

He still plays the trumpet and now has his own jazz quartet which plays at festivals and venues across the country.

Colin is well known for playing Charles Robinson in the James Bond films. Charles appears in Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough, and Die Another Day and is M’s right-hand man!
Along with James Bond, Colin’s been in all sorts of films including Resident Evil, and the sequel Resident Evil: Retribution, and a thriller called Exam.
Telly icon
Colin’s not just a film star – he’s also been in several television dramas and comedies. In fact, it’s almost easier to list the shows he’s not been in!
But his telly credits include Law & Order UK, Silent Witness, Hex and Little Miss Jocelyn.
He played Dr Rowan Dunlop in Bad Girls, and another doctor – Dr Moon – in two episodes of Doctor Who alongside David Tennant. In fact, there were even rumours he might be the new doctor when David Tennant left.
He’s also been in Death in Paradise, Secret Diary of a Call Girl, and the No 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency
Strictly Come Dancing
Back in 2012, Colin took part in the tenth series of Strictly Come Dancing.
He was partnered with Kristina Rihanoff and the pair were eliminated fourth. The series was eventually won by Olympic gymnast Louis Smith and his partner Flavia Cacace.
Colin’s in good company in EastEnders. Molly Rainford, who plays his on-screen daughter, Anna, got to last year’s Strictly final, while his on-screen step daughter, Linda, is played by Kelly Bright, who got to the final in 2015.
Colin at home
Colin’s married to visual artist Fiona Hawthorne and the pair have four children. Son Rudi is a musician and daughter Sasha is an actress – both following in their dad’s footsteps!
In 2021, Colin gave an interview in which he talked about his recovery from Covid, and how it had affected him.
