Long time EastEnders fans last saw Walford’s original wild child Mary in 1988. She became sick of her family’s interference with her life and, after vandalising her father’s business, she jumped on a bus and left Walford with daughter Annie.
Lofty was a barman at the Queen Vic who was hopelessly in love with Michelle Fowler, who dumped him at the altar. However, he agreed to marry her again after she had Dirty Den’s illegitimate child, Vicki.
Towards the end of last night’s episode viewers saw Lofty leave a £20K cheque with Martin for Vicki saying it was for “old times’ sake”.
