Kat Slater’s oldest daughter Zoe is tipped to return in what could be one of the most dramatic comebacks in soap history.
Fans became very excited last night (Thursday 15 November) when Kat phoned Zoe, hoping to catch up with her…

Sadly Zoe didn’t answer the phone, but Kat left an emotional message telling her how much she missed her and revealing she doesn’t even know where she lives anymore.
Clearly the pair have become estranged, but fans believe the mention of Zoe means she could be on her way back to Albert Square.
And soaps certainly have form when it comes to these things!

Kat has been thinking about her kids a lot these past few months, but is separated from all of them.
Watching Hayley struggle with motherhood has led Kat to think about her own children, especially Zoe who she didn’t raise as her own.
After being raped by her uncle at 13, Kat was forced to hand over baby Zoe and have her raised as her sister until the truth finally came out.
In fact, the moment Zoe discovered Kat was her real mum is one of the most iconic scenes ever in EastEnders history…
Michelle Ryan, who played Zoe from 2000 to 2005, went on to star in ITV’s Jekyll opposite James Nesbitt and US series Bionic Woman, as the titular heroine Jaime Sommers.
She also appeared in Merlin and Doctor Who.
The actress, now 34, has always ruled out a return to Albert Square.
Last year, she even called for the character to be recast with another actress.
She said: “I know they’re probably thinking, ‘Well, would you like to come back?’ but I think the best thing would be if they recast the role.
“It’s not part of my life anymore but I feel it would be the right thing to recast the role.
“Zoe is such a great character and there’s such untapped territory there and there will be some actress out there that’s desperate for that break and I would say give that actress that break because it’s just the best learning curve working there.”
So could Zoe be coming back with a different face?
Meanwhile, Jessie Wallace, who plays mum Kat, has said: “I think it would be a great storyline if Zoe were to come back. It’d be brilliant. I still get people shouting, ‘You ain’t my mother!’ at me and asking me to say ‘yes, I am’.”
Fans are totally behind Zoe’s return, with one tweeting: “Anybody else wondering with all these Zoe name drops, if they are planning to bring back Michelle Ryan as Zoe Slater? Kat & Zoe reunited would be…”
Another said: “Calling it now, Zoe is returning soon.”

After years of not being mentioned, Zoe’s name has been dropped a few times recently, including another scene last week during an argument with Hayley’s evil mum.
And let’s not forget the moment that had fans clapping their hands in glee, when Hayley and Kat recreated the famous argument between Kat and Zoe.
EastEnders’ boss Kate Oates recently confirmed that THREE Walford legends would be returning soon…
She told the Daily Star: “I haven’t made the calls yet, but there will definitely be two, possibly three old faces returning.
“You’ll probably see them in the first quarter of the new year.”
As well as Zoe Slater, Grant Mitchell, Bianca Butcher and Ricky Butcher are also in the frame.
