Emmerdale stalwart Danny Miller made his final appearance as Aaron Dingle on the ITV soap last night (Monday, December 6).
However, some fans were left questioning whether it was actually his real exit at all or if he’s just taking a break to go into the I’m A Celebrity castle.
In recent weeks, Aaron has been left devastated by the shock murder of his boyfriend, Ben Tucker outside Hawksford Outdoor Pursuits.
Ben became the latest victim of secret serial killer, Meena Jutla, after discovering incriminating video footage of murderer Meena trying drown her love-rival, Victoria Sugden!
However, in an unexpected turn of events, Aaron’s troubled younger sister, Liv Flaherty is the prime suspect in Ben’s murder.
Horrified at the thought that his own sister killed the love of his life, Aaron made a decision to leave the village on Monday’s episode of Emmerdale…
Emmerdale spoilers: Aaron abandons Liv
Aaron has pretty much stood by Liv, even though she’s been a whole lot of trouble.
This year she started boozing and went on a destructive spiral after blaming herself for the death of boyfriend Vinny Dingle’s dad, Paul in an explosion.
On the night of Ben’s death, Liv got into a drunken scuffle with him and was left with a bleeding neck injury.
So after Lydia Dingle told the police that she bumped into a drunk and aggressive Liv outside the scene of the crime, it didn’t take the police long to make an arrest…
On tonight’s episode of the ITV soap, Liv appeared at Hotten Magistrates Court where she was refused bail.
Aaron visited Liv one last time in a court sideroom and told Liv he was washing his hands of her for good.
As Liv pleaded with her big brother to reconsider, a tearful Aaron walked away…

Which ex-Emmerdale character does Aaron leave to reunite with?
Was it his one-time husband, Robert Sugden, who is currently serving a prison sentence? Or someone else?
Viewers were in for a surprise when Aaron told his uncle Cain that he was off to France to reunite with Adam Barton!
Remember him?
Adam, who was played by Adam Thomas, did a runner from the village back in 2018 after confessing to a murder he did not commit.
He has been living abroad ever since.
After a tearful farewell to his mum, Chas, he drove out of the village leaving Chas unsure if/when she will see him again.
How did fans react to Aaron’s exit?
Some viewers were blubbing even more than Chas and Aaron!
One wrote on Twitter: “What an emotional goodbye for Aaron especially with that acoustic version of ‘Take On Me’ I wasn’t crying at all!! I’m hoping Danny Miller comes back some day, let’s hope so!!”
Another said: “That sunset as Aaron drives off over the village – what a moment.”
A third Emmerdale fan noted: “See you don’t have to kill a character off, and you left the door open for Aaron. He’s crying. I’m crying.”
However, others felt it did not do the character justice.

After the huge impact that Aaron as a character had on the show and the people who identified with his story, all the awards Danny won for the show, they deserved a great exit, shame it didn’t happen, and there was no need to completely rip Aaron and Liv to shreds #emmerdale

Was this Danny Miller’s actual exit?
However, some were confused as to whether that was Danny Miller’s exit for good or if it was just a break while he appears in I’m A Celebrity.
Danny announced his exit from the soap days before he entered the Castle for this year’s show, but fans weren’t expecting it quite so soon, nor in the middle of a huge storyline.
His sister is banged up for a murder she didn’t commit and he hasn’t even attended his boyfriend’s funeral!

Has Aaron left Emmerdale for good?
It seems however, that that was Danny’s official exit from the show.
Emmerdale shared a video Danny made before he went into the castle of him bidding his farewells.
It was clear he has definitely left and doesn’t have any immediate plans to return as he thanked his fans and his family in the emotional clip.

What’s next for Danny Miller?
Danny can currently be seen on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! on ITV.
“It is a show I have always wanted to do,” says Danny. “I’ve tried to do it a few times in the past. But it didn’t work out with timing, schedules, contracts etc. So this has been a long time coming.”
After quitting Emmerdale, Danny is looking forward to spending more time with his fiancee, Steph Taylor and their baby son, Albert.
But don’t worry, we haven’t seen the last of new dad Danny on our screens.
“There are a couple of things that might happen in May/June next year,” reveals Danny. “I’m also hoping I’m A Celebrity will give me the opportunity to do other stuff. Whether that is presenting. Or perhaps some directing and producing.
“People have pretty much seen me as Aaron for 13 years. So I’d like people to see a different side to Danny and that I can actually smile and have a laugh!”
