Emmerdale fans accuse soap of repeating storylines with ketamine plot

Déjà vu?

Emmerdale viewers have shared their frustration, after accusing the ITV soap of repeating storylines.

Fans took to Twitter to reveal their despair as the ITV soap gave them another plot which they believed was all too familiar…

On Thursday (July 25), a raging Kim Tate discovered her son Jamie had been conspiring against her in a bid to oust her from the veterinary surgery.

Jamie had colluded with Rhona Goskirk in the hope of becoming a business partner at the firm, and freezing Kim out.

However, when she found out, she decided to get her revenge on Rhona and the staff at the local vets.

The village villain ordered Graham Foster to pay the surgery a little visit, in order to steal ketamine from their medication cabinets.

Kim then wanted Graham to scatter the empty bottles around the kids playground in a bid to cause maximum damage to the reputation of the business – especially considering Vanessa’s disgrace last year.

However, fans were quick to notice the anaesthetic had been used quite recently in another big storyline.

Just last year, Lisa Dingle suffered a devastating heart attack after drinking ginger ale that was laced with stolen ketamine.

The Emmerdale favourite found herself caught up in Gabby Thomas and Liv Flaherty’s potentially fatal prank.

The girls had intended to spike Gabby’s mum’s boyfriend Daz Spencer’s drink but their plan backfired spectacularly.

They had stolen the bag of ketamine from local vet Vanessa Woodfield, and the incident nearly cost Vanessa her career.

Fans expressed their disappointment at the drug being used again in a ‘new’ storyline.

One said: “Oh no, not the ketamine angle with the vets again!”

Another said: “Emmerdale using the same storylines again and again – rob some ketamine, car chase where roadworks stop car and not forgetting a fire which will kill off someone.”

A third added: “Not Vanessa’s ketamine again, please.”

It’s not the first time the ITV soap has been accused of repeating storylines recently.

Earlier this month, fed up viewers claimed the Yorkshire-based soap was ‘repeating the same scene over and over again’ between Robert Sugden and pregnant sister Victoria.

But doesn’t real life feel a bit like Groundhog Day sometimes?
