Actor Jurell Carter has been nominated for a prestigious TV award, but some Emmerdale fans aren’t happy about it.
Leicester-born Jurell plays homewrecker Nate Robinson – a character who has enraged fans as he conducts an illicit affair with married woman Moira Dingle.

Viewers have been appalled and sickened as the pair have hopped in and out of bed, all behind the back of Moira’s husband Cain – a very popular character with soap fans.
And playing a baddie with a secret, actor Jurell doesn’t seem to have won himself any fans!
Which kind of proves he’s doing a fantastic job, doesn’t it?

Reacting to the news that the actor has now been nominated for a Best Newcomer Award at next year’s National Television Awards, Emmerdale’s official Twitter page said: “Our very own Jurell Carter is up for an @OfficialNTAs! Vote Jurell as your BEST NEWCOMER here…”
But fans were quick to ruin his moment, with one replying: “Sorry, but no. Didn’t like his character from the beginning.”
Another begged: “Just write him out.”

A third added: “Why? […] Give him a real storyline, one that doesn’t involve him taking his shirt off and sleeping with anyone in a bra… Then we’ll see!”
“Not Nate, cannot stand him, he’s a big head,” slammed one more, while another said: “I don’t like his character at all, sorry.”
“No way. Maybe if he was playing a different character but I hate Nate for what he has done to my favourite couple!” fumed yet another angry viewer.
Seriously??? 😂 my wardrobe is a better actor than him. Hopefully he will be gone soon

However others appreciated the fact Jurell is an actor, who is playing a mysterious character.
I’ve been longlisted for Best Newcomer at The National Television Awards (@OfficialNTAs)… would be so grateful and appreciate all the votes that you guys could give ❤️👊🏽 thank you https://t.co/kQR0VTQgIp pic.twitter.com/G7J7K7x1cO

One said: “Well he can’t be that dreadful if he’s been shortlisted can he?”
Another agreed, adding: “Think some comments are a bit unfair. He has been given a part, which to be honest does not stretch his acting skills. Just don’t vote and be nice.”
A third said: ” I definitely won’t be voting, not fussed about his character at all, but I’m sure he’s a lovely man in real life!”
“Hope he wins, I love him!” gushed one fan, and another asked: “Why do you dislike an actor because of a character he plays? It’s a character, it’s not real life.”
Jurell himself tweeted his 1,495 Twitter followers, saying: “I’ve been longlisted for Best Newcomer at The National Television Awards. I would be so grateful and appreciate all the votes that you guys could give. Thank you.”
Nate first entered the soap in April this year, when it was revealed that he had kissed Rhona on a night out.
He got a job at Butler’s farm, but was promptly fired by farm co-owner and Rhona’s then-boyfriend Pete Barton, when he found out who he was.
Nate also slept with Tracy and started dating Amy shortly after.
As well as Emmerdale, Jurell has appeared in Doctors, Home, and Kiri, and has also done voiceover and commercial work.
