Emmerdale fans frustrated by latest twist in Rebecca kidnap plot

And now she’s been left to die…

Emmerdale fans were on the edge of their seats last night as a group of adventurous school kids ventured into the creepy woods where Rebecca is being held captive.

The group of explorers, straight out of an Enid Blyton tale, boldly walked through the forest telling creepy stories and trying to scare each other.

Little did they know, an actual nightmare was happening right underneath their noses.

On Tuesday (7 August), ITV viewers were hopeful that the group of children – Angelica, Carl, April, Heath, Cathy and Arthur – would discover the location of Lachlan’s hostage and alert the police.

However, despite hearing their footsteps, Rebecca failed to call out.

And some TV watchers were left frustrated by the scenes, claiming Rebecca should have screamed out to be heard.

One described it as a “Scooby Doo” episode, while another complained: “The kids hear woodland noises not Rebecca as she’s not opened her mouth if she had screamed then maybe more realistic. Come on end this SL getting bored now.”

However, another fan pointed out that Rebecca has knocked her water over, and perhaps was unable to cry out…?

When she heard the youngsters outside, Rebecca simple gasped: “Hello? Please, is somebody there? I need help.”

She then experienced a coughing fit.

Other fans were horrified that Nicola and Jimmy King’s young children were wandering the woods alone at dusk, but many more wondered why Rebecca couldn’t simple “slip out” of her chains now?

The poor girl hasn’t eaten properly since her evil nephew Lachlan kidnapped her weeks ago, so fans believe she must have lost enough weight to unshackle herself.

And they’ve called the ITV soap out for its apparent blunder.

Rebecca is currently chained up in a cabin after discovering Lachlan’s killer secret, but he’s left her alone for 10 days while he enjoys a holiday. Well, all that killing must be exhausting!

Her meagre supplies, including one bottle of water which she accidentally knocked over, means that the barmaid is literally starving to death.

Many Twitter fans asked why the chain hasn’t fallen from around her waist?

One wrote: “If Becks hasn’t eaten for a while, surely if she took her jeans off she could slip out of the waist chain from weight loss? #Emmerdale.”

A second said: “Surely she’s lost enough weight in there to shimmy the chain off.”

Another added: “I’m surprised Rebecca hasn’t wasted away and escaped past the chains.”

Actress Emily Head has teased that the hostage situation will eventually end with “brutal scenes”.

But who hurts who?

We know Lachan has killed before – at least three people, probably four, and counting – and attempted to kill Liv and Robert…

But would he kill his only last remaining adult relative?

Probably. After all, two of his victims were his own mum and grandad!

Or will a terrified Rebecca end Lachlan’s life instead?
