Emmerdale fans ‘loathe’ Jacob and Maya plot as pair reunite again ahead of court verdict

It's not over yet!

Fans of Emmerdale were at the end of their tether last night, when evil Maya turned up yet again and seduced Jacob into another illicit kiss.

On Wednesday (June 19), Jacob was angry when he saw an upsetting live stream on Noah’s phone. And the footage led him straight back into Maya’s arms.

When impressionable Jacob saw the film of some school girls confronting Maya and turning violent, he sprinted off to defend her.

Finding her and chasing off her attackers, the pair ended up together in her car where they talked about her court appearance the next day.

After a emotional chat, they eventually embraced and kissed.

She told him: “My mother’s disowned me – no friends, no job, no life, a daytime TV habit and a new prescription of antidepressants from the doctor.

“I’d say my life is pretty perfect right now.”

As Jacob expressed his guilt over her circumstances, Maya laid it on thick, once again suggesting they run away together.

In fact, the former teacher hinted that she would kill herself if they didn’t.

She said: “I’ve been so lonely, everybody hates me. I’ve got nothing, nobody. I’ve been in such a dark place.

“It’s been breaking my heart having to push you away.

“If the worst happens and I get taken away tomorrow. And if I walk out of court a free woman then what?”

Jacob replied: “We’ll go away together, somewhere miles away from here where nobody knows us. We can be normal, we can be in love.”

And Emmerdale viewers were left sickened by the scenes in which manipulative Maya once again got Jacob exactly where she wanted him.

One tweeted: “OMG Jacob is totally snowed by Maya. Thank the soap gods that she’s in court tomorrow. Better get sent down and be gone. Sick of her!”

Another added: “As if Emmerdale isn’t depressing enough as it is, we’re back with Maya and Jacob. For the love of God please let it end soon.”

A third said: “I am so glad this storyline is coming to an end this week because it went in a direction that I loathe. She should have been seen preying on him against his will for it to have had a massive effect. Instead Jacob and Maya are being written as a forbidden romance.”

“This Maya and Jacob story is stretching longer than necessary,” said another. “Just end it already and let’s see this pervert get what she deserves.”

Maya appears in court tonight (June 20) to hear the verdict of whether she is guilty of abusing Jacob or innocent.

Will she go to prison for her abuse of the vulnerable schoolboy?

Actress Louisa Clein recently told Radio Times: “I still don’t think Maya accepts what she’s done is wrong, therefore I don’t believe she regrets it.

“She probably still has feelings for Jacob and as she heads towards the court appearance she’s in damage control mode. Things have gone beyond any rational sense and now it’s about survival and what will happen to her after the situation is resolved – one way or another.”

She continued: “Maya can’t comprehend the possibility of jail, as she doesn’t think she’s in the wrong.

“I suppose she considers a rap on the knuckles, a non-custodial or suspended sentence after which she could move away and try to rebuild her life on her own somewhere else.”
