Last night Emmerdale fans were delighted to see the growing bond between Ellis Chapman and April Windsor.
April was trying to pull the wool over dad Marlon’s eyes saying she felt too poorly to go to school. When he said he couldn’t take the time off work she suggested Ellis looked after her.

Ellis agreed and the pair ended up having a sweet heart to heart.
April asked the young lad why he hadn’t followed his childhood dreams of becoming England captain and he told her he had a trampoline accident, resulting in him twisting his knee and not being able to compete in Manchester Academy trials.

April suggested even though he couldn’t play for England anymore he could still be a football coach, then he and mum Jessie wouldn’t argue all the time about what he was going to do with his life.
In a touching moment April then told Ellis she could only remember the good things about her late mother Donna Windsor who sadly died in 2014.
Jessie and Marlon returned home later and were impressed to see Ellis looking for a job. It seems the little girl has inspired her new friend.
