Viewers of Emmerdale will be forced to say goodbye to one of the village’s major characters in devastating scenes tonight.
After an explosive week of dramatic episodes, Thursday’s visit to the Dales (October 24) will see fan favourite Robert Sugden exit for good.

Robert will learn his fate tonight when he arrives in court charged with murder – and fans who have fallen in love with him and his husband Aaron will be bereft as he’s sent to jail.
Viewers know he faces life imprisonment for his attack on Emmerdale rapist Lee Posner.
Last week, viewers saw Robert and Aaron go on the run after hearing the news that Lee had died.

The police eventually tracked the pair down to a remote cottage, where Robert ultimately gave himself up.
Viewers were left heartbroken as Robert handed himself into the police, while Aaron sobbed in Paddy’s arms.
Devastating scenes will now see Robert’s husband Aaron beside himself with grief over their desolate future.
In scenes that will have Robron fans sobbing, Robert and Aaron’s future will lay in the judge and jury’s hands…
With actor Ryan Hawley definitely leaving, his character Robert will be sentenced and sent to jail.
Visibly shaken and emotional, Robert takes to the stand tonight to hear the judge’s distressing verdict.
As his sentence is read out, poor Aaron buries his head in his hands as he faces a future without the man he loves.
In upcoming scenes, a heartbroken Aaron goes off the rails as he copes with life without Robert.
Will Robert ever come back? Only time will tell!
Also this week, Chas Dingle has given birth in the toilets of The Woolpack, and Cain discovered his wife Moira has been having an affair with Nate – his son!
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
