Cain Dingle’s been on a downward spiral ever since confessing everything about Joe Tate’s death to daughter Debbie. But things are set to get even more dramatic next week when he tries it on with ex Charity. Um, what about Moira?!
Cain has been struggling with the guilt of killing Joe Tate ever since his untimely demise in October last year.
While viewers know it was actually Graham Foster who finished off the suave businessman and dumped his body by Hotten viaduct, Cain thinks he is the one who killed his daughter’s fiancee with a single punch.

Knowing that someone needs to do something to help Cain before he really hits rock bottom, the Dingle women gather together and decide to draw straws to work out who should be the one to confront the troubled mechanic.
Charity is the (un) lucky winner and heads to the farm to sort Cain out. But when she arrives, she’s shocked at the state of the place, and realises that Cain is worse than they thought.
After a good chat, it seems like Charity is slowly getting through to Cain, but just when she thinks she’s got her point across, Cain leaves her shocked when he kisses her.
As she fights a handsy Cain off, Matty is there to see the whole thing and even films the moment between the pair. What will Moira say?
Protective Charity gets rid of Matty, worried how Cain might react if he knew he’d been filmed. But she’s secretly worried that there is more trouble on the cards – and she’s right!
Vanessa isn’t happy when she finds out Charity’s ex tried it on with her, but as she confronts Cain in the street, Debbie overhears their argument and realises what her dad has been up to now.
As she offloads to Faith about what happened, she drops the bombshell that Cain killed Joe, leaving her stunned.
But her revelation opens a whole can of worms for Cain when Faith accidentally lets the secret slip to Matty and soon the news that Cain finished off Joe starts to spread.
Before you can say ‘Cain didn’t do it’ the police are all over the village and arrest him for Joe’s murder.
But while the moody mechanic’s life hits rock bottom, where has his ill-judged kiss with an unsuspecting Charity left his marriage?
Moira has got a tough choice on her hands about whether she wants to stand by her husband… can she forgive him for murder and infidelity at the same time?

Knowing exactly what he is going through thanks to her guilt over Emma Barton’s death, Moira certainly isn’t one to judge when it comes to Joe’s demise, but what about Cain’s kiss with his ex?
Aaron tries to talk Moira around, claiming her and Cain have plenty to fight for, and it seems she takes his words on board, because later in the week she is seen worrying about what has happened to him after his arrest.
Matty isn’t happy that his mum seems to be forgiving troubled Cain, but is it really as simple as that?
Can the Dingle marriage survive this latest blow?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
