Jai Sharma’s life is about to be turned upside down when a shock death brings his estranged son Archie Breckle back to Emmerdale.
It seems one door closes and another one opens for Jai next week.
Just weeks after bidding daughter Eliza a tearful farewell as she went off to start a new life away from the village with mum Megan, Jai’s other child Archie arrives on his doorstep.
The factory owner has been through a tough few months.
As well as saying goodbye to Eliza, Jai has watched his family business go up in smoke when the Sharma factory burned to the ground.

But as Jai and his family fight to get their business back up and running, it seems he is about to have more important things to worry about when Dan Spencer arrives with bad news.
Dan drops the bombshell that Jai’s former fling Rachel Breckle has died, meaning that Archie – the result of a forbidden affair between them – now needs to come and live in Emmerdale.
Jai is thrilled to see his estranged son, but the same can’t really be said for Archie, and he struggles to be pleased to see his dad.
But as Jai fights to reconnect with his son, who he hasn’t seen since he moved to Liverpool with Rachel back in 2015, it seems it’s going to be harder than he thought when his boy hardly recognises him.
So does this mean Archie is back in the village for good?

With only one living parent left, it seems Jai will be facing looking after his son full-time.
But where does this leave Jai’s new relationship with Laurel?
Will the addition of Archie to their new family rock the boat for the pair?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
