After Debbie Dingle tells her that she would be better off not letting Cain anywhere near Kyle, Kerry is given food for thought and next week she starts to consider the possibility of applying for custody of her grandson.
And when she has a shocking run-in with a raging Cain, Kerry realises that Debbie might be right about Cain and calls social services.
But what Kerry doesn’t realise is Debbie’s advice to keep Cain away from his son came after the pair had a fight, and she was trying to get revenge on her dad for all the heartache he has caused her recently.
When Debbie realises Kerry has taken her seriously and is applying to get full custody of Kyle, she guiltily tells Cain what she has done and he is devastated by her betrayal.
But as he marches over to see Kerry and Dan to give them a piece of his mind, little does he know that Kerry is having a meeting with social services and, as he lays into Dan, the social worker sees everything.
Kerry is delighted that Cain’s outburst means she is more likely than ever to get custody of Kyle. But her bubble is soon bust by Dan who points out that it is possible they wouldn’t be the first choice for custody of the little boy.
