It looks like Kim Tate’s return to Emmerdale could be short and, well, not particularly sweet as next week someone has murder in mind as they push her down the stairs at Home Farm.
Kim causes quite the stir when she arrives at the masquerade ball in a swanky sports car that is being auctioned off for charity.
No one can quite believe their eyes when Kim steps out of the luxury motor and declares that she is the true owner of Home Farm.
She then invites the astonished guests back into the ball and tells them to carry on partying.
But it’s not long before Kim is up to her old tricks and her loose lips make sure she’s made a whole host of enemies throughout the evening.
Later, the guests are left horrified when they hear a piercing scream and Kim is pushed down the stairs, where she crashes into the champagne fountain at the bottom.
But does Kim live to tell the tale? And who out of the many enemies she made in such a short space of time could hate her enough to try to kill her?
It was announced last week that Emmerdale’s most famous superbitch would be returning for a short stint.
Actress Claire King spoke about her return on Lorraine.
The actress, who was last seen playing the amazingly evil superbitch Kim Tate back in 1999, spoke of her much-anticipated return to the soap with host Lorraine Kelly, revealing that it might not be for as long as fans might have hoped for…
“She is just back for a week. I think she does quite a lot in that week and she’s bigger, badder than she was before, and obviously a bit older.”
Lorraine was desperate to get the details from the actress this morning, grilling her on whether Kim could be a character who popped in and out of the show, fitting with Claire’s busy schedule.
Sadly for soap fans, Claire wasn’t revealing too much, instead replying: “I’m committed to pantomime at Christmas. I’m in Stockport doing Sleeping Beauty and I’ve got a film coming out at the end of October, King of Crime, so things are busy. I’m sorry about that!”
Her return to the show might be brief (for now – we have still got our fingers and toes crossed for more!) but Claire revealed that her alter ego will certainly be making something of an entrance when she arrives.
We last saw the character depart the Dales in a helicopter after trying to kill stepson Chris Tate with a paperweight, and it seems her return is equally as dramatic…
“She arrives in a DB9 which is rather nice, and I got to drive it. We didn’t have the helicopter this time, but we had a nice Aston Martin instead!
“The first few days I was working with Andy Scarborough (Graham Foster) who is just brilliant – we were on different sets so at first it felt like a new job. Then I arrived at Home Farm and the old boots came on. She was back and it felt great!
“There are loads of familiar faces too and the same work ethic so it feels like home.”
Emmerdale released a dramatic trailer last night, the rest of the masked ball promo that they relvealed a cryptic image from last week showing a blonde woman wearing a masquerade mask.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
