What did Emmerdale star Fiona Wade say on This Morning?
Host Holly Willoughby asked her: “Christmas is coming, last year you’d just moved into a new house, so this year you’re properly settled and it sounds pretty idyllic, it sounds like your husband is very good at the Christmas decorating?”
Fiona laughed and replied: “He’s amazing.
“Since getting married I have just really loved Christmas again. Him and his family do Christmas in such a gorgeous way. They’re very traditional and he cooks, he makes all the Christmas decorations himself, he’s amazing. And he’s going to be embarrassed I said that!”
Phillip Schofield decided to embarrass Simon further by adding: “You were telling us in the break, he roasts oranges for the tree?”
Fiona revealed: “Yes, he puts them in the oven, he puts them in cinnamon. He puts all our decorations up on the tree, he makes the wreath, he cooks Christmas dinner. He’s amazing, he is and that’s why I always talk about him because he is amazing.”
She added: “We’re putting the tree up next week and I can’t wait to decorate it. He’s great, he takes over all of that so I don’t have to worry.”
Who is Emmerdale star Fiona Wade married to?
Fiona married Simon Cotton in October 2019.
He had proposed on New Year’s Eve with Fiona admitting she was in “floods of tears” when he popped the question at her family home in Hertfordshire.
Simon and Fiona met at Emmerdale after he appeared on the hit soap briefly in August 2017.
He played Home Farm estate client Hugh Bryant.
Fans may recall that Hugh was unimpressed by Rebecca White’s organisational skills when she was left to run the business alone after a divide in her family.
He ended up terminating his contract with them and was never seen again.
Although Fiona and Simon never appeared together on-screen, they certainly hit it off off-screen!

Priya’s recovery
Priya suffered life-changing burns during the fire in the maize maze caused by Meena Jutla‘s murderous antics.
She has been struggling with the recovery ever since and it has made Priya’s eating disorder rear its head.
Tomorrow night (Thursday, December 2), Priya will look at her scars for the first time.
Fiona and the team have been working with Changing Faces who support anyone with a visible difference to ensure they are portraying Priya’s story accurately and respectfully.
Speaking about when Priya looks at her scars, Fiona told Holly and Phil: “It takes about two hours in make-up.
“So I had two hours of sitting in my dressing room in make-up and I was like: ‘I just don’t want to look at them until I take the bandages off, I want it to feel as real as possible’.
“The actual reveal was sort of the first time [I saw it] and I wanted to try and be in that position.”
She continued: “For Priya with her body issues she feels like her life has ended. She doesn’t want help from her family, she’s pushing everyone away.”
The actress also revealed she uses her personal experience of anxiety, which she has battled since her teens, to tap into Priya’s emotions.
“Priya’s had her eating disorders and there’s lots of things I can pull from my own experience of having anxiety. I’ve lived with it forever, but fortunately so many more people are talking about it now,” she shared.
