Mark was found not guilty of affray, unlawful wounding and assault by beating, following a row in a pub beer garden.

Danny tweeted: “Couldn’t be more thrilled for such a lovely man.

“Justice, finally. So happy for him and his family, who can now begin to rebuild their lives following such a horrendous ordeal! (sic)”

Danny’s comments come after Mark was cleared at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester yesterday (06.08.19).

Mark’s fiancée, Emmerdale star Laura Norton – who plays Kerry Wyatt – was said to be in tears in the public gallery.

Following the verdict, the former Heartbeat star said: “I really am grateful to the jury for proving my innocence and especially for proving the innocence of my loved ones, who’ve had to endure this awful ordeal with me this last year.

“I’m looking forward to getting back to our engagement and my career, which has been on hold.”
