Young actress Amelia Flanagan has been praised by her co-star Sandra Marvin and viewers of the ITV soap.
The Emmerdale fave has played April Windsor since 2014 and has had some tough storylines to deal with, including the loss of her mother Donna.
Last night (Tuesday June 25), April was in the centre of the drama when Max arrived at Tall Trees cottage looking for Billy.
Max has had it in for Billy for months but in Monday night’s episode (June 24), Max roped Billy into helping him with a van robbery.
The robbery went downhill for Max when the police turned up after they were tipped off by Billy.
Max and the rest of the robbery crew managed to escape and the villain soon realised that Billy had set him up.
Last night, Max was hiding upstairs when Marlon, Jessie and April returned home early from the football match.
Max gave the orders for Jessie to ring Billy and get him to the house.
The headteacher left her son a message as it went to voicemail and it soon became apparent that Max had a gun, leaving the family terrified.
Max told Jessie to try ringing Billy again but the school teacher secretly called 999 and told him it had gone to voicemail again.
Through all of this, Marlon was trying to console his young daughter who was absolutely terrified at the situation she was in.
When Billy received the message he returned with his brother Ellis to see a police roadblock.
Despite the police telling him to stay back, Billy managed to sneak in through the back door which led to the kitchen.

Luckily Max had sent April to get him a beer and Billy managed to get his stepsister out of harms way.
11-year-old Amelia has been praised by her co-star Sandra Marvin, who plays her stepmother Jessie, and Emmerdale viewers for her performance last night.
