There’s been speculation that Amy Wyatt would be returning to Emmerdale of late, not least after the actress who played her, Chelsea Halfpenny, left her role in Casualty this weekend.
She poured cold water on the idea of her comeback to the soap, though. Boo.
But is seems Amy WILL be back… played by a different actress.
The Sun Online reports that the former teen tearaway will be portrayed by newcomer Natalie Ann Jamieson.

The actress told the tabloid: “I’m incredibly excited to meet all of the talented cast and crew at ITV’s Emmerdale.
“I feel very lucky to be joining the cast of such a loved and respected show.
“I’m very grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to find out what the future holds for Amy!”
Amy left Emmerdale to go and live in Ireland, leaving her son Kyle with his dad, Cain.

It’s not yet clear whether Amy is the character who Paddy will meet in Belfast and bring back home with him.
This is the second soap recasting to be announced today – earlier this morning we revealed that Ben Mitchell would be coming back to EastEnders, but played by a sixth actor.
