Whilst everyone wondered who the mother could be, Lydia knew it was her baby that had been found.
The police soon put out in the paper they were looking for someone called Jenny Finn, who would’ve been 16 when the baby was born.

Lydia went to the police station and told them that she was Jenny Finn.
Karen has now revealed the lengths her character went to in order to keep her secret.
She told The Sun Online: “She took somebody’s identity, the circumstances of which will come out, the whys and wherefores of that.
“She assumed another identity. Lydia Hart was another person, and she assumed that identity and lived as Lydia.”
Karen went on to reveal Lydia tells Sam everything.
She said: “She speaks to Sam and tells him: ‘I didn’t mean to lie to you and I didn’t want to lie to you, but somewhere along the line it stopped feeling like a lie’.
“I think that was very much Lydia’s experience.”
Emmerdale is on Monday to Friday at 7pm with extra episodes on Tuesday and Thursday at 8pm on ITV.
