Emmerdale’s Moira ‘trending on Twitter’ after making killer confession

The Matriarch finally revealed SHE killed Emma - and not Adam

Moira’s murderous secret finally spilled out in dramatic scenes last night – leaving Victoria Sugden, and viewers, shocked to the core.

Emmerdale fans have known all along that it was Moira and NOT her son Adam who killed Emma Barton last year.

But the truth of the crime has always been hidden from Victoria and Matty.

On Thursday (27 September) night’s double bill, Moira got a nasty surprise when she walked in on Victoria and Matty kissing – and couldn’t help but make her feelings very clear.

Hurt and angry, she reminded Victoria she was married to Adam and shouldn’t be kissing anybody else.

But, in turn, Victoria lashed out at her husband Adam saying he’d abandoned her.

Unable to hear her son being wrongfully attacked and called a “coward” and a “killer”, Moira blurted out the truth.

After explaining how she let Adam take the blame for her, Victoria lashed out and revealed she wouldn’t let Moira “get away” with Emma’s murder, as well as destroying her marriage.

She exploded: “She gets away with everything. But not this, not murder. Just because the police think she’s innocent doesn’t mean everyone else has to.”

Fans know that Adam fled the Dales after admitting to killing Emma in a bid to protect his mum.

Victoria, however, had no idea that Adam was innocent and tearfully said goodbye to him before he was stowed away in a shipping container to Europe.

But now the truth can never be unsaid.

Fans were reeling from the scenes, with some calling Moira a “hypocrite”, “horrible” and a “murderer”.

So many people took to social media in fact, that Moira’s name was trending on Twitter!

One blasted: “Moira’s a murderer. ‘She made me do it’ & ‘I wasn’t myself’ r the excuses of abusers. I didn’t buy it yesterday from Obadiah, I’m not excusing it today. That she feels bad? Don’t care. She pushed someone off a bridge & then let someone else take the blame. Enough crying & excuses.”

Another said: “Moira gets away with murder, Debbie gets away with the acid attack but Chas loses a baby… come on writers Chas did not deserve that.”

But others thought Moira SHOULD get away with it, with one typing: “Of course it’s right for her to be punished but Emma goaded her into it and quite easily could have killed Moira too. Moira was protecting herself and her family. She can’t go to jail.”

Others called for actress Natalie J Robb to be awarded for her intense scenes, saying: “Natalie J Robb. Overlooked for awards for way too long!”

Others said Emma deserved her brutal death!

Will Victoria ever be able to forgive her mum for what she’s done?

And will Adam Barton return one day to clear his name?
