Olivia Bromley, who plays Dawn Taylor in Emmerdale has revealed her character is set for some romance.
The actress has been in the soap since April 2018 and it’s not been plain-sailing since her first appearance as a prostitute and drug addict.
Speaking on Lorraine on Wednesday August 14, Olivia told stand-in host Christine Lampard that she’s hoping happiness is around the corner for her character.

“At the moment this is the first time in the storyline that she sees maybe a glimmer of hope that there could be a family unit there for her, which is what she’s wanted for so long,” Olivia revealed.
“And potentially there might be a little bit of romance for her, so a little bit of joy.
“But it’s soap so it might be short-lived!”
Dawn had a fledging relationship with Ryan Stocks, but when he discovered she had teamed up with her bad dad, Will Taylor, to terrorise Harriet Finch, Ryan was unable to forgive her.
Olivia also admitted she found it “so daunting” making her Emmerdale debut.
The actress said it was a “baptism of fire” making her debut on the ITV soap – so much so she didn’t think she would be able to play out her first scene.
She said: “It was so daunting, because it’s such a fast turnaround with filming, it’s very technical, you’ve got this huge crew.
“It’s a bit of a baptism of fire but I love it and it is a very welcoming atmosphere.
“On my first day all I had to do was walk in and slam a door and I thought, ‘I can’t do that, I cannot do that.’
“I was so nervous.”
Olivia finds it “the worst” watching herself back on screen, and she had to leave the room when her first scene aired.
She said: “It’s so awful watching yourself, it’s the worst. The first time we aired, the character was very beaten up at the time, and I had to stand outside the room.
“My family watched it.”
Dawn has had a turbulent life, but Olivia admits her “flawed” character is “so lovely to play”.
She added: “She’s such a complicated character and she’s not always likeable, she’s very flawed but that’s so lovely to play.
“She’s very vulnerable as well.”
Olivia previously admitted she was expecting “a bit of hate” from ‘Emmerdale’ fans over Dawn helping her dad Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) with his evil revenge plan against his ex Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton).
Asked about the possibility of Emmerdale fans turning against Dawn, Olivia said: “They probably will. But that doesn’t bother me as an actor, because I think it’s fun to play these parts where you’re not always going to be popular.
“A real character has these flaws and Dawn is a really complicated character.
“What’s been really nice about what I’ve done so far is that when I came in, Dawn wasn’t exactly likeable. She was hard, she was a heroin addict and people weren’t sure of her.

“She was also involved with Ross, who is a very popular character and she was dragging him down a bit.
“Then people were slowly starting to warm to her, which has been really nice because it’s been a little bit less judgmental.
“Now I’m sure there will be a bit of hate! But it’s real stories and no-one’s perfect.”
