Actress Sally Dexter, who plays Faith Dingle in Emmerdale, has explained why she’s quitting her role in the ITV soap.
The actress, who recently confirmed her character will be leaving the soap, joined the show in 2017.
Talking to Inside Soap, she explained her reasons for stepping away from her role.
She said: “At the beginning of the year, I was thinking about my job at Emmerdale and how much I love it and how I’d hate for it to become anything less than a job I adore.
She continued: “So I’m leaving now, but maybe one day I’ll come back to it. Never say never. After all Cain needs his mum.
“Whenever people see me out in the street, they tell me that I need to keep him in order.”

Before Faith leaves, she will be caught in the middle of an explosive storyline when she tells her son Cain that his wife Moira has been cheating on him.
Next week Faith finds out that her daughter-in-law has been having an affair, but gets the wrong end of the stick and thinks that it’s Pete Barton she is sleeping with.

She tells her son about Moira but tells him that she has been knocking off Pete, when actually it’s farmhand Nate she is doing the dirty with.

Cain is fuming and vows revenge on Pete.
Pete manages to tell Cain the truth and he plots his revenge on the pair.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
