Actress Hayley Tamaddon has opened up about her ‘nervous breakdown’ to coincide with World Mental Health Day.
The star of Coronation Street and Emmerdale shared the story with her 125,000 followers, admitting she suffered a nervous breakdown and cried on the floor for four hours until she nearly passed out.

The Dancing On Ice winner revealed the incident happened at home on Tuesday night (9 October), when she started to feel the pressure after agreeing contracts on a new apartment in London.
In a moving post, shared to help others coping with similar anxieties, she said she felt “terrified” over whether she could afford it – which led to a scary panic attack.

She wrote: “I broke down. For four hours. Oh my God, I’m having a nervous breakdown, I thought.
“I cried until I felt like I was gonna pass out.”
She explained that the panic attack started on a train from London to Manchester.
She said: “All these questions running round in my head led me to have a panic attack on a train.
“I controlled it until I got off. As I walked down the platform I walked quickly.
“Put my sunglasses on and fought back the tears. I got to my car and got in and locked the door and I gave myself a talking to, slowed my breathing down and drove home.”
Fellow DOI star Samia Longchambon replied with the message: “Perfectly put Hayley.. well done, big hugs.”
Liberty X star Jessica Taylor wrote: “Sending love babe.”
And many more sent their love and thanked Hayley for sharing her story.
